Caissa(again)

I know I have already a lots of posts about vanas and caissa, but why not have one more? SO this past caissa which was as of today about 2 weeks ago and it was in Quito, Ecuador. First I'm going to talk a bit about Quito then I'm going to actually talk about the actual tournament. So Quito was like any other city I have been to on the other caissa trips its; run down, ghetto, not the best looking city and all that stuff. I wouldn't really recommend going to Ecuador, well that not true I don;t know enough about the rest of Ecuador, but I do not recommend going to Quito. The weather in Quito is very "bipolar" as we called it. The on Saturday when we got there it was chilly and crisp and you could feel the nice warm heat of the sun on you. Later on in the afternoon as we were having our last game of the day there was a huge thunder and lightning storm and it HAILED!!! which was really exciting. On Sunday at the school is was pretty cold in the morning and later on in the day we went to a hot springs and we were all dying of the heat it was so hot. Finally on Monday it was so hot and we were out watching our boys play and after the game everyone on the girls and boys team was completely burned! Like I said the weather there was very "bipolar".

In the tournament we did pretty well, we ended up getting second place which is still good, but it's not first place :( If we had won it would have been our fourth consecutive win, but oh well. The cool thing was is that over all out of all the teams we were the highest scoring team in the tournament, which is really good! We beat  CMS and ISPS in every game by at least a 20 point difference. The only team we lost to was AC in the round robin game and in the final. Our boys came in fourth. They played for second and third place and the game was very close, it had to go into penalties and they lost by one shot. They went into the 3rd and 4th place game against AC(the best team, the tragically lost it against the worst team ISPS), so they weren't to lucky to have to play against the best team and they lost and got 4th. So far every caissa the boys have come in last except basketball because CMS forfeited. But us girls have done pretty good this year!

Summer, July

July
After I go to America my family is going to Canada. First were going to go to Vancouver. When we are in Vancouver we are going to hang out with my auntie and uncle and see my cousins. When I’m in Vancouver I’m either going to a Britney Spears concert on the 1st or a Rihanna concert on the 4th, I haven’t decided yet. After I’m going to my home town Castlegar just to chill out with my friends and family (most of my family is there). Then the next week I’m going to my favorite camp. It’s called Blue Lake Camp and it is a camp were you just chill and play games and learn stuff about the outdoors. This summer it’d different at the camp for me cause my age you can’t go to normal camp you have to do this program called OYLS which is where you train to be a counselor.  The thing I’m bummed out about a little is that I have to leave one day early so that I can make it to my volleyball camp. I’m sad about this because I leave Friday and Friday is where everything happens, like the formal dinner and the midnight story telling of the camp. But I am excited because this is the first summer that I am going to the volleyball camp because previous summers I went to a soccer camp but now I am too old L.  I am really excited about the volleyball camp because I love volleyball and I can’t wait to do 5 days of intense volleyball training. After my two consecutive weeks of camp we are going to have about 3-4 days to say good bye to everyone and then we will have to come back to this stupid place.

Summer, June

June
Summer vacation is right around the corner and you have no idea how excited I am!! For this summer I have a lot of stuff planned and during the whole summer there are only going to be two weeks in the beginning of July where I will have free time to do nothing. School ends on the 10th and I’m out of this place on the night of the 12th/13th. Originally we were going straight to Canada and no America but then we decided to go to America so we fly from here to Toronto to Philadelphia to Atlanta. We are going to be in Atlanta for a week because one of my mom and dad’s best friends from china is having a baby and the baby is supposed to be born on my mom’s birthday, so they wanted to be there. After Atlanta we are going to a small town in Pennsylvania with a population of about 1000 people, to visit my best friend and her twin brother, coincidentally the same time I’m going to be there my friend who is my best friends brother’s best friend from China is also going to be there. I think we are going to be with my friend for about a week and then after that week we going to go to Philadelphia and my dad is going to go to some geeky computer teacher conference and I am either going to go with them or stay for another week with my friend. Then After all this were going to go to Canada.

Pro's and Con's

I do not really have a feeling towards blogging in English class. It is not something I wan't to do and it is not I don't want to do. But it is something that I have to do so I do it. What I do find annoying about blogging is that in my life only once in awhile in my life interesting stuff happens, and in blogging I don't like writing about random things, they have to be something worth writing about. So I am glad that the amount of posts that we had to write was reduced because then I can save the posts for the exciting things that I know are going to happen, like Caissa and spring break. A pro of blogging is that it is a creative way of writing. I would rather write on the blog then keep a writing journal like in my old school. Even though I don't really mind blogging I would rather not do it and do something else. I am not sure what else we could do instead of blogging. I'm just throwing idea's out but maybe we would do pen pals or something, it would be like blogging except between you and a person, then we could also learn how to write letters.

Caissa

I know Caissa was a couple of months ago but I am going to write about it. This Caissa tournament was for soccer. I love soccer, it is my favorite sport even though it is not the sport that I am the best at. In this Caissa tournament we sadly got 3rd place out of 4. I think it was a reality check because before this tournament we had never lost a single game we played. In the tourmanet there was a 50% chance we would get 2nd and a 50% chance we would get 3rd. We could have gotten second becasue our skill level and Equador's skill level was the same. The first game we played against them, they totally dominated the game but we luckily score in the last 10 mins of the game. When we played our second game against them, the one for 2nd and 3rd place, we definatly out played them but the literally scored 2 goals in the last 5 mins of the game, lucky for them, not so much for us. So as I said we got 3rd Equador got 2nd, the Dominican got 4th and Trinidad got 1st. For the placeing of the 1st and 4th teams from the moment those two teams started playing it was obvious they were going to get those places.
I had lots of fun. I roomed with Maggie and we stayed with a 12th grade, she was very chill. We did lots of stuff with her we went to a concert(where Maggie talked to the guy) and we went the a lime(a party) and we just hung out with her friends. For the things that we did with the school were; we went to the beach, and we had a little party thing the lalst day we were there. The beach was ok, kind of lame it wasnt that nice of a beach and the party was pretty lame too, lots of people were into the party but our school and another school were not into it because we were so tired. Overall it was pretty fun, but I liked the Caissa volleyball better.

Cake boss

Recently I have found my new favorite show. My new favorite show is called Cake Boss. Cake Boss is a show about this very successful bakery that has been running for 100 years as of 2010. Carol's Bakery was opened in 1910 by a guy named Carlo, in the 1940's it was bought by the Valastro family. Currently the guy who runs Carlo's Bakery, his name in Buddy Valastro the son of the guy who bought the bakery in the forty's. Origionally everybody that worked in the bakery was family or close freinds who they considered family. Now because the bakery is so big that they have so many people, family and randoms, working for them. Because they have gotten so big they are going to move the production of cakes from the current location to a place down the block that used to be an old train station. You can imagine how big that must be and once they are in there every inch is going to be used. Carlo's Bakery is one of the most famous, if not the most famous bakery in the world. They are known for making extravagant, huge, out there, totally awesome cakes. Not only do the cakes look good but the costomers say they taste amazing. The special thing about Carlo's Bakery is the not only do the have small cakes and pasteries and cookie etc. They also have specialty cakes, thats what they are special for. Specialty cakes are when the customers come to the bakery for a consultation with buddy about what they want and the bigger the better, the specialty cakes are the extravagant ones. Th customers range from soon to be weds to Snooki to the Mayor or New Jersey.

When I turn 21 I'm going to go to the store and order a specialty cake for my 21st birthday :)

International Fair

This weekend at our school there was an International Fair. An International fair is where all the students and there family's get together and make food and or make bits an pieces of things from their country. Each country has it's own booth and the booths are set up outside or insidethe school, depending on your school. So once the people get to school on the day of the fair they get their booths ready and try and make it the best looking booth possible, so that more people will want to cone to their booth. The booth that I helped out in is the Canadian booth, seeing as how my family is Canadian.

About two weeks before the international fair there was no Canadian booth. My dad and I really wanted there to be a Canada booth, cause what would the world be without Canada? So we quickly got together the booth; we asked people to bring decorations, make food etc. It was finally the international fair and our booth was together and it looked pretty good! I mean it definatly was not the best most popular booth, but that's ok. I had a very fun day though. I hung out with my friends, we played sone games ate lots of food, threw arepa batter at teachers, it wad fun. What also happened that day was that there were performances all day. I am in the highschool band and we got to play. Every part of the day was fun!

I Am Number Four

Last weekend me and Val saw a movie that just came out called I Am Number Four. The Genre of the movie was action/ romance. Val and I really enjoyed the movie and we hope that theres going to be another one. We also think that if there was not another one that it would be stupid because the ending of the movie very much suggested a sequel. The main actors that were in this movie are Alex Pettyfer and Diana Agron. After the movie the two started dating and Val and I think they make a very cute couple.
Anyways... back to the movie. So the movie is about these Aliens that come to earth because there planet was destroyed by the Mogs, and now there are 9 of the aliens left and the Mogs have a list of them and they are killing the 9 aliens one by one. So the first 3 aliens are killed and now its Alex Pettyfer's characters turn, he goes by John Smith. So John and his warrior, Henri leave there current town and relocate so they loose the Mogs. So they are now in Paradise, Ohio. In Paradise John goes to school where he meets Sarah(Diana Agron). So they fall in love and then Henri tells him that they don'y love the same way, they love forever. Then the mogs come and they try and kill him, but he find number 6 and they defeat the Mogs together. At the end of the movie John and number 6 leave to go find the rest of the aliens on the list.

Picture This

Recently I was at a sleepover with a whole bunch of my friends. We did many things that night. One of the things that we did was watch lots of movies. We watch Picture This, The Hangover, etc. The movie that I really enjoyed was Picture This. Picture this is about a girl named  Mandy, who is a nobody. Mandy has a major crush on the most popular guy in school, Drew Patterson. At the beginning  like i said she is a nobody and she is doing all she can to get Drew to notice her. The first thing that she does to get him to notice her is she joins the swim team, but when she is walking by the pool she hits her head, falls in the pool and then Drew saves her and that is when he starts to notice her. Then a couple days later Drew asks Mandy to come to the "Legendary Patterson Party" with him. So she says yes. On the day of the party Mandy is grounded so she says she is going over to her friends house to study. They go to the mall to buy the perfect outfit but while they are at the mall, Drew's old girlfriend and her friends try to sabotage Mandy. Not only are they girls trying to sabotage Mandy, Mandy's dad is calling her every 30 minutes so make sure shes okay, and he calls her using video chat. So not only is Mandy getting sabotaged by the girls, she phone punks her dad every 30 minutes and she comes out in the end. Mandy makes it to the Party all right and there is a happily ever after. I really liked this movie. It was very girly and very corny, so if you are in the mood for a good chick flick watch this movie.

#2 More Mad, Marvy Confessions if Georgia Nicholson

In the 6th book of the Confessions of Georgia Nicholson series Georgie and her friend and family all go to america, or Hamburger-a-gogo land. Georgia is extremely excited to go to America because the half American, half Italian Stallion, Masimo is going to be in America. When Georgia is getting ready to go to America, she thinks that is is going to be exactly like England. But when she arrives in America she realizes it is totally different.  One of the first things that she thinks to her self is " I have not seen anyone who hasn't got a mustache. And frankly that is not attractive in a woman" (106). Georgia is completely surprised at how friendly the people are. " The receptionist(Candi) practically split her mouth in half, she was smiling and saying 'alrighty' so much"(110). Georgia is also surprised at how much the people eat in America. When Georgia was at the pool they ordered tea and ham sandwiches as a snack. When the sandwiches arrived, the" sandwich was made out of two loaves of bread, chips, a huge gherkin and a piglet" (112). All the humor in these books is why I enjoy reading these books so very much.
